Shea Freedom

Born in Los Angeles, Freedom was subject to 28 different placements and like 68% of foster youth emancipated into homelessness at age 18.  No doubt the early instability would prepare Freedom for the fast paced life on the road. A true example of human resilience, Freedom now uses the stage to advocate for foster youth, transgender rights and environmental issues Across the globe. Freedom has traveled all over the United States solo via motorcycle, collecting stories from the back of shrimp boats in the Gulf of Mexico to the Black Sands of Hawai’i.  In 2014 Freedom opened for renowned LGBTQ artists Goddess & She who were featured on the Showtime hit series The L Word. In 2015 He brought the love on tour, raising awareness for non- profit The Teen Project opening for artist Rising Appalachia in AZ, CA and CO. Early 2016 saw Freedom recieve the Rising Star Award from Black Trans Men Inc. The rest of 2016 was spent touring with Trevor Hall as direct support and headlining small festivals across the United States such as Taos Sister Winds, Moab Pride and Steamboat Movement Festival. You can find Freedom sharing the good vibes in 2017 celebrating the new album “For The Mother” at festivals alongside artist such as Matisyahu, Nahko & Medicine For The People, Arise Roots, Tribal Seeds, the Shook Twins, Dustin Thomas, Mike Love and more.
